Service

In preschool, students begin to understand what it means to care for others. Through simple, meaningful acts of kindness, they learn that:

• Helping matters—whether it’s sharing toys or comforting a friend

• Everyone has something to give, no matter how small

• Serving others brings joy and connection

We introduce service through classroom activities like collecting canned goods, making cards for nursing homes, and praying for others.

As students grow in understanding, we nurture their ability to act with empathy and intention. In elementary school, students learn:

• That service is an active expression of God’s love

• The value of putting others’ needs before their own

• That their actions—big or small—can make a difference

Students participate in age-appropriate service projects, including food drives, fundraisers for children’s hospitals, and supporting local ministries. These experiences plant seeds of compassion and purpose.

Middle school students are beginning to form their sense of identity and purpose. During this time, we help them:

• Recognize their gifts and abilities as tools for service

• Reflect on how Christ modeled servant leadership

• Embrace group service projects that build teamwork and empathy

Whether it’s helping with Special Olympics, volunteering at community events, or participating in mission-focused Cornerstone discussions, students begin to see service as a lifestyle—not just an activity.

By high school, students are ready to lead by example. They take ownership of their impact and are challenged to serve with vision, humility, and boldness. We emphasize:

• The biblical call to serve as a central part of discipleship

• Opportunities to mentor younger students

• Leadership through missions, outreach events, and student-led initiatives

High school students discover that service is not only about meeting needs—it’s about transformation: of communities, relationships, and their own hearts.
