After thoughtful consideration and discussion, the Jackson Christian Board of Trustees has decided to participate in the Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) program for the 2025-2026 school year. Under current law, accepting EFS funds does not compromise the school’s autonomy or independence. Should future legislative changes arise that threaten our ability to remain independent, the Board will reevaluate our continued participation.
We are currently in the process of becoming an officially registered participating school. For the 2025–2026 school year, the Education Freedom Act provides 20,000 scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis:
- 10,000 scholarships are income-based
- 10,000 scholarships do not have income eligibility requirements
📅 Applications opened Thursday, May 15, 2025. We encourage all families to begin reviewing the requirements and preparing their applications in advance. Please note: EFS funding is on a per-student basis. If you have multiple students, you have to fill out an application for each one.

What do these changes mean for my family?
The EFS program will greatly benefit some of our families, and in the long term, we believe it will be a great benefit to Jackson Christian School. However, due to the current limitations, not all students will receive this funding. If you do not receive the EFS, your 2025-26 tuition will not change, and your payments will remain the same. If you do receive the EFS, your payments will be adjusted to reflect the EFS funding.
Example:
Tuition: $11,460 (Middle School Student)
EFS: $7,295
Remaining Tuition: $4,165
Discounts will not be combined with EFS funds. Accordingly, if a student currently receives a discount and is awarded EFS funds, the existing discount will no longer apply. The EFS award exceeds the maximum discount offered by the school. To remain eligible for discounts, families must provide proof of a timely EFS application.
