Don't forget about IXL.  I will pull the report up on Fridays during our activity time.  The report I am running is from Friday thru Thursday.  The report will tell me how many problems your child worked on and how long your child worked on IXL.  The great thing about this report is that it will show me the exact questions that your child saw and at what time they saw this problem.  This will help me to know where their weaknesses and strengths are.

*** Please make sure your child is wearing their tennis shoes for P.E. on Monday and Friday.
***Remember, PTF dues are $25.00.  If our class has 100% our classroom will receive extra money.

Your child will bring their Reading book home on Mondays. They will need to read the story to you during the week and then you will need to sign their folder stating that you have read the story with them.  I will check for this on Friday.

High Frequency Words: sugar, bicycle, special, exercise, sometimes

Memory Verse: My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you. Psalm 71:23

Math:
Don't forget to get on IXL with your child.

(The easiest way to help your child prepare for assessments is to monitor the daily homework that your child will be bringing home.  Remember, this is like a snowball effect and each skill will continue to grow as we develop them.)

Science: How living things grow

Accelerated Reading Requirements

Oral Reading Fluency Rubric

Reminders and Notices:

If a student needs to be out of school for personal days they must have it pre-approved at least 3 days in advance by Mrs. Crabtree.  Otherwise the absence will count as unexcused and will result in zeros.

JCS has teamed up with Nicaragua Christian School.  Each grade on the responsibility of sponsoring a child.  Second grade will be sponsoring Roberto.  The cost to send him to school for one year is $300.00.  We have a coin can in our room that we can drop any change or bills in.  I would like for the students to feel like they are truly a part of this.  If you find any change at home, please encourage your child to bring it to school and drop it in our can.
