All Students:  

  • GO KROGERING!!! - Don't forget to use your Kroger Gift Card. In just four months, JCS & the Tuition Exchange program have received $15,754.00. Go Krogering!
  • JCS BAKE OFF - Featuring HaliHannigan’s and TSS Industrial Pckg. CEO Michelle Boyd as judges! On Friday, March 2, the JCS Eagles in Action public service group will be putting on the first ever Jackson Christian School Bake Off!  The competition will be open to any JCS student, faculty member, or parent and will take place from 5:30-7:30 P.M. in the high school cafeteria.  Divisions will include brownies and bars, cupcakes, and cookies.  Entry forms are available in the High School Office and must be returned along with a five dollar entrance fee by Friday, February 24.
  • SHAMROCK SHUFFLE - The 2012 JCS Shamrock Shuffle is being held on Saturday, March 24.  Events include a 5K run, 1 mile fun run, 15 mile bike, 30 mile bike and Shamrock Challenge (15 mile bike followed by 5K run).  We are offering black tech shirts with lime green lettering for all participants.  Age group medals are 2 ½” custom shamrock medals.  Last year we had over 300 participants and we are hoping to increase that number in 2012.  We are encouraging everyone to wear green for the race.  Click here for registration form or here to register online.  Also, check out our Facebook page .
  • JCS NIGHT AT BOOKS-A-MILLION - Friday, March 2 from 5-9:00 p.m. will be JCS Night at Books-A-Million. Required reading books and teacher wish lists will be available. JCS will receive a portion of all sales from that evening with the proceeds directly benefitting both the elementary and secondary libraries, as well as the AR Program.   

Elementary:  

  • EAGLE BITES - Latest EAGLE BITES NEWSLETTER - click here .
  • FLIP FLOPS FOR HAITI - Mrs. Purvis is collecting flip flops during February for Haiti.
  • READ ACROSS AMERICA - Mark your calendars for February 27 - March 2.  

Secondary:  

  • COED VARSITY TRYOUTS - There will be an open gym available for any upcoming 9 - 12 grade student who is interested in trying out for the 2012-13 Varsity Coed Competition Cheer Squad (This includes guys too!). Open gym dates are: March 6 and 19 and April 2, 9 and 16. The open gym will be held in Coffman from 3 until 4:30 p.m..
    Cheer tryout clinic will be April 23 and 24 from 3 until 5:30 p.m. Attendance for both days is mandatory in order to be able to tryout! Tryouts will be April 26 beginning at 3:00 in Coffman Gym. If you have any questions please contact Rachael Harris or Blair Parker.

  • EXCHANGE CLUB STUDENT OF THE MONTH - Congratulations to Destinee Easley (photo at right) for being selected as the Jackson Exchange Club Student of the Month.

  • COED CHEER - Congratulations to the Coed Cheerleaders - 7th place at Nationals!
  • JUNIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - Applications for the Junior Volunteer Program at Jackson Madison County General Hospital can be picked up in the HS office.  You must be between the ages of 14 and 18 to participate.  Teacher reference letters and a 250 word essay are required.  This is very competitive so apply early.  The deadline is March 15.  Interviews will be set up after the packets are turned in.    If you have questions, see Mrs. Bradford or contact Donna Williams at JMCGH.
  • COED VOLLEYBALL - Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board by the HS office. There is a maximum of 18 players per grade. Each player is required to buy a $10 t-shirt. Non-players can also buy a t-shirt.  You can sign up and pay in the HS office.
  • LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY - Applications are in the HS office for 10th grade. They are due February 29.
  • INTERACT CLUB - Interact Club members can sign up for t-shirts and pay in the HS office.

KROGER TUITION EXCHANGE PROGRAM - Join JCS and Kroger in an exciting program for families to help offset the cost of tuition. Click here for more information  or enrollment form


MY COKE REWARDS PROGRAM - If you enjoy drinking Coca-Cola products, you can get My Coke Rewards points and help JCS. Your donations will go toward obtaining soccer balls (we need 40) for our students to distribute during their spring mission trips. Send the bottle caps or codes off the 24 or 12 packs to Mrs. Shelton in the high school library/ Mrs. Holmes in the elementary library.


BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION -  Cut the Box Top for Education symbols from participating products (Betty Crocker, Kleenex, Progresso Soups, etc.) and send them to the elementary library. JCS receives $0.10 for each box top collected. This money goes to our Accelerated Reader program. Anyone can also go to the Box Tops for Education website and register to earn more points for JCS.
