Summer Reading Requirements
Jackson Christian High School
Summer 2009

"Properly, we should read for power. Man reading should be man intensely alive. The book should be a ball of light in one's hand." --Ezra Pound

Here is a list of books that are required for JCS High School students to read over the summer.  Even though classes will discuss the books, students may expect to take a quiz over the book at the beginning of the school year, as teachers evaluate students' initial comprehension of the novel.  We hope you enjoy your encounters with these books, as well as ones that you choose on your own.
