5th Grade Language Art

January 5-9, 2009

Reading:  Begin our new story "A Drop of Water"  Children received vocabulary for this story on Monday.  They will test over it on next Tuesday, January 13th.  This reading story is an expository nonfiction story and is very factual.  Therefore, they will be allowed to use their test on the test next Tuesday. 

Spelling: Spelling Test over new words on Friday.  Also, we will choose our spelling bee representative from each class this week.

Writing:   We will complete a New Year's resolution writing sheet on Monday.  Also, assignments for The Eagle Eye will be handed out on Friday.  We will begin to develop our stories and projects with brainstorming.

English: Principal parts of Verbs and using do and see correctly.  Also, we will start back with Mountain Language daily practice each day.  They are allowed to use their books and dictionaries for this each day.

*Folders will go out Tuesday!
