March 16, 2009
Hunter Creasy picked up his first varsity win in relief
pitching 2 shutout innings while hitting 2 doubles as JCS
beat in town rival Liberty 11-8 in extra innings. The
Eagles were up big early only to see Liberty tie the game up
8-8 in the bottom of the 6th inning. After a double
play to get out of a bases loaded jam in the 6th and
pitching out of a bases-loaded 0 out situation in the bottom
of the 7th without allowing a run, Martin Key drove home
Zach Parker for the winning run in the top of the 8th.
Parker, Creasy, Trevor Haggard and Noah Chandler all had 2
hits a piece for the Eagles. Haggard added 5 RBIs.
March 11, 2009
Dakota Coplin pitched a 1 hitter for a shutout victory
as the Eagles won 11-0 over McNairy Central for their third
straight win to start the season. Noah Chandler and
Trevor Haggard had 2 hits a peace to lead Jackson Christian.

JCS used a 5 run third inning to overcome a three run
deficit and never looked back winning 10-3 over 2A
powerhouse Dyer County. Noah Chandler pitched a
complete game for the home team and Martin Key added 2
homeruns in the win.
March 9, 2008
The Eagles won their 2009 season opener over defending
Division II State Champion Harding Academy 12-3 Monday
night. The Eagles jumped up 12-0 including a 10 run
2nd inning started by a 2 out solo homerun by Dakota Coplin
(who was 2-3) - his first Varsity homerun. Martin Key
also added a homerun and Josh Lindsey pitched 3 shutout
innings to pick up his first win of the season.

Chase Presley (Graduating Class of 2008) was
presented with the 2008 Tennessee Baseball Coaches
Association Class 1A Player of the Year Award in Nashville.
Coach Cooper was presented with the 2008 TBCA Class 1A Coach
of the Year Award. Congratulations!
September 19,
2008
On Friday, September 19, the State Champions
celebrated Homecoming in grand fashion with the
presentation of their State Championship rings.
Coach Chuck Cooper had this to say, "This is a
fantastic night. I am just so proud of
this team. One of the great things about
this night is that every senior from the state
championship team came back to campus for the
ring ceremony. This just goes to show what
a special place JCS really is."

May 23, 2008 The Eagles
completed their first ever baseball state championship in school
history after defeating Huntingdon 10-4 at David Lipscomb
University Friday afternoon. The Eagles finished the
season with twelve straight victories and finished with a record
of 32 wins and 11 losses.
May 14, 2008 The Eagles win the
Regional Tournament by defeating Fayette Academy and Middleton
to advance to the sub-state game vs McKenzie on Friday.
May 7, 2008 Eagles Win District Tournament!!
Down 2-0 in the third inning JCS scored 10 runs in rout to a
14-5 win over Adamsville. Dakota Coplin got the win on the
mound.
May 6, 2008 After being down 6-0 in the
fourth inning the Eagles scored 5 in the fourth and took the
lead in the fifth 8-6 only to see Adamsville tie the game 8-8 in
the top of the 7th. JCS answered back scored the winning
run in the bottom of the 7th on a bases-loaded walk by Tanner
Perkins for another come from behind win! Martin Key got
the win for the Eagles in relief.

April 14, 2008 The Eagles picked
up a huge non-district win Monday night against the South Side
Hawks with a 6-5 nail biting victory. Sophomore catcher
Hunter Creasy came up with the go ahead run on second base with
one out in the top of the seventh inning with the game tied at 5
runs apiece. Creasy found himself quickly in the hole with
an 0-2 count, and then laced the third pitch for the go ahead
run to ultimately give the Eagles the 6-5 victory. Patrick
Taggart picked up the win for the Eagles on the mound to improve
to 5-0 on the season, and sophomore Cody Jones pitched 5 great
innings of baseball only allowing four hits, two strikeouts, and
two earned runs in the varsity start. The Eagles were led
at the plate by freshman Noah Chandler who finished the game 3
for 3.
April 9, 2008 JCS picked up a big road win
9-1 over Adamsville behind Dakota Coplin's complete game effort
on the mound. Patrick Taggart, Martin Key, and Phillip
McConkey all had 2 hits apiece to lead the Eagles as they jumped
out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back
improving to 6-0 in district.
April 8, 2008 Senior Patrick
Taggart picked up his fourth win of the year as the Eagles
remained undefeated in district play Monday night vs Adamsville
at Murrel Haase Field. Taggart pitched a complete game and
allowed three runs. The Eagles were led at the plate by
hot hitting first baseman Phillip McConkey. McConkey drove
in two key RBIs with a double in his second at bat and accounted
for another run with a single during his third at bat of the
game. The Eagles will travel to Adamsville on Tuesday
night as they will look to keep their undefeated district record
alive.

March 28, 2008 Eagle right
hander Dillon Coplin leads JCS to a 6-1 victory in the Sports
Plus Tournament Friday Night at South Side High School against
Ripley. Coplin pitched a complete game one hitter and
allowed only one earned run. The Eagles were led at the
plate by Phillip McConkey. McConkey went 2 for 3 with a
triple and 3 RBIs. During the past two games, McConkey is
4 for 5 and slugging an outstanding 1.200. Also in the
game, Freshman Noah Chandler was 2 for 2 with a walk and 2 RBIs.
March 27, 2008 The Eagles
suffered their fifth loss of the season Wednesday Night at the
hands of the Lexington Tigers. The game was close until
the fifth inning when the Eagles made an uncharacteristic
four errors and gave up 9 unearned runs. The final score
was 11-0 in favor of the Tigers. JCS will look to bounce
back Friday afternoon as they face JCM.
March 26, 2008 The JCS Eagles
continued their hot hitting against Camden Wednesday night at
Murrel Haase Field by scoring in the double digits for the
fourth consecutive game. The Eagles were led at the plate
by sophomore Martin Key. Key went 3 for 4 at the plate
with 2 RBIs and one run scored. Other Eagles that had big
nights were Seniors Tanner Perkins and Chase Presley.
Perkins went 2 for 2 at the plate and blazed the basepaths by
adding four stolen bases and two runs. Presley added 2
more hits for the Eagles with a double. Sophomore Dakota
Coplin picked up his first win of the season by pitching four
scoreless innings allowing only four hits and striking out four.
The Eagles will square off against Lexington tomorrow at Murrel
Hasse at 4:30pm.
March 24, 2008 JCS defeated
district opponent Trinity Christian 16-1 Monday night at Murrel
Haase Field. Senior pitcher Patrick Taggart collected his
third win of this young season by throwing at complete game two
hitter and holding TCA to only one run. The Eagles were
led at the plate by senior Blake Taylor, two doubles and three
runs scored, senior Chase Presley, three singles and three RBIs,
sophomore Martin Key, 3-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and
senior Ryan White, two hits including a double and three RBIs.
The Eagles will travel to Trinity Tuesday at 4:00 for their next
district meeting.
March 22, 2007 The Eagle
Baseball Club recently completed the Scenic City Classic in
Chattanooga, TN by playing a total of four games and winning
one. Please check the schedule

March 17, 2008 The JCS Eagle
Baseball Club opened up district play for the 2008 campaign by
taking two games from the Lions of Scott's Hill at Murrel Haase
Field Monday night. Senior Patrick Taggart picked up his
second victory of the season by pitching a complete game and
allowing a total of three hits and two earned runs. The
Eagles plated a total of twelve runs on thirteen hits during
game one and picked up their fifth victory of the season.
The Eagles were led at the plate by sophmore Hunter Creasy who
had his first three hit game of the season. Creasy totaled
two singles and a double at the plate and scored two runs along
with two RBIs. Also having big games at the plate for the
Eagles were freshman Noah Chandler, a double and three RBIs,
senior Patrick Taggart, a double and two RBIs, senior Chase
Presley, two singles and two RBIs, and senior Ryan White, a
single and a double with two runs scored. Also adding hits
for the Eagles were Blake Taylor with a double, Martin Key,
Phillip McConkey, and Tanner Perkins.
During the second game of the
double-header, the Eagles came out swinging the bats. Noah
Chandler started the game off with a triple to deep right center
field and after that the Eagle Baseball Club never looked back.
The Eagles plated a total of twelve runs in the second game, and
starting pitcher Martin Key was dominating on the mound.
Key definetly had the velocity on the fastball working as he
totaled ten strikeouts in only five innings of work. Key
allowed only one hit and one earned run in his second victory of
this young season. The Eagles were led at the plate by
freshman Noah Chandler and senior Blake Taylor. Chandler
pounded out three hits included a triple to lead off the game.
He also added three RBIs. Taylor also joined Chandler and
Creasy in the three hit club for the day by adding two singles
and a frozen rope line drive down the left field line.
Taylor also added a RBI and a run scored. Other key
contributors for the Eagles were Patrick Taggart with two
singles and two RBIs, Martin Key with a double to deep right
center field, Cody Jones with two singles and an RBI, and Tanner
Perkins with a single and a double along with two runs scored,
and Luke Simon with a blazing line drive up the middle to plate
two runs. Also adding hits for the Eagles were Trevor
Haggard, Chase Presley, and Zack Parker.
The Eagles will continue
action this coming weekend in Chattanooga at the Scenic City
Classic. Please check the schedule

March 14, 2008 JCS defeated the
Vikings of Humboldt High School Friday night at Murrel Haase
Field behind a strong pitching performance from Noah Chandler
and a big game at the plate from Martin Key. Chandler
pitched a solid three innings allowing two hits and one walk.
Key led the Eagles at the plate going 3 for 3 with two singles
and a triple off the center field wall. Seniors first
baseman Patrick Taggart and shortstop Chase Presley continued
their hot hitting with each player going 2 for 3 with a double.
Senior second baseman Ryan White also added two singles for the
Eagles. JCS finished the Tomahawk Classic with 4 wins and
their overall record now stands at 4-1 heading into district
play Monday at Scott's Hill. The Eagles next home game
will be Tuesday, March 18 as the Eagles host district opponent
Scott's Hill.
March 13, 2008 Noah Chandler lead off the
game with a double and Patrick Taggart followed with a homerun
as the Eagles scored 4 runs in each of the first 2 innings to
defeat the Huntingdon Mustangs 11-7. Luke Simon, Cody
Jones, and Dakota Coplin pitched for the Eagles with Simon
picking up his first win of the season and Coplin getting his first
varsity save. The Eagles pounded out 12 hits with Chandler
and Taggart leading the way with 3 hits each, and Hunter Creasy,
Marin Key, and Zach Parker adding 2 hits a piece. "This was a great
team effort against a very good Huntingdon team," said Cooper.
"I'm very proud of the way we swung the bats tonight."
March 12, 2008 The Eagle
JV squad defeated USJ 19-0 behind a strong combined shutout by
pitchers Dakota Coplin, Cody Jones, and Trevor Haggard.
The Eagles were led at the plate by Josh Lindsey (2 hits
including an off the wall double), Dillon Coplin (a deep double
to right center field), and Cody Jones (a deep double to left
field). The Eagle JV squad will continue action next
Tuesday, March 18 at North Side High School.

March 11, 2008. JCS defeated Covington 5-4
in the first game of the day. Martin key started allowing
1 earned run in 4 innings of work and Noah Chandler picked up
his first varsity win in two innings of relief for the Eagles.
Chase Presley led the Eagle hitters going 3-3 with 2 doubles.
Patrick Taggart and Martin Key also added doubles in the Eagles
second win of the season. "I am pleased with our effort so
far. Our guys did a great job of finding a way to win
against a good Covington team. They competed and executed
well during pressure situations," said Coach Cooper.
In the nightcap the Eagles fell to 3-A powerhouse Hardin County
3-0. Chase Presley took the loss giving up 1 run in 4
innings. The Eagles had the go ahead runs on base in the
fifth, but couldn't capitalize on opportunities. Cody
Jones led JCS at the plate going 2-2 with 2 singles. The
left fielder also threw out a run at the plate.
March 10, 2008. JCS won the season opener 8-0 over
Gibson County. Patrick Taggart pitched a complete game
shutout in his first win of the season. Chase Presley was
2-3 with a homerun and a double and Martin key added two doubles
in the Eagles win.
March 6, 2008. The Eagles completed their pre-season
scrimmages with a 12-5 win over South Side High School at home on
Friday. "We are excited about the way the pre-season went.
We have been swinging the bats really well, but the pre-season
is over now, and the real games get started on Monday," said
Coach Cooper. February 25,
2008. In the first
scrimmage game of the season, the Eagles bats exploded for 20
hits as JCS cruised to a 22-3 win over the North
Side Indians. The Junior Varsity team came up a little
short in a 4-2 contest.
