High School Musical (January 2011)
During March 2011, JCS music theatre took a group of 45 students to perform in Orlando at Walt Disney World. The Magic Music Days program is one that features performing groups from across the nation. To be invited to perform, the director must fill out an application for the school and submit videos of the performing group, pictures of the costumes, and samples of the music. Jackson Christian School music theatre, under the direction of Jenna Britt, was accepted and given a prime performance time and location this past Friday at Downtown Disney. The crowds gathered around to watch our music theatre kids perform seven songs from the show “High School Musical”, which they performed to sold-out crowds at the Ned McWherter Center here in Jackson on January 5-9. It was an excellent showing of the talent at our school and the dedication to excellence that exists in our fine arts program.
