JCS Clubs

 

The EMC (Eagle Mission Club) is a service organization that encourages students to view JCS, their hometown, and the rest of the world as a mission field. Our primary purpose is to share the love of Jesus with others, while cultivating a heart for service. The EMC is open to students in grades 9-12 and membership is a requirement for all participants of the spring break mission trips to Argentina, Kenya, and Nicaragua.

Eagles for Christ is a service organization that seeks to love God by serving and loving others.  Eagles for Christ is involved with Special Olympics, the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and many other local social service agencies. Membership is available to all high school students.

The Journalism Club is made up of several students who are in charge of putting the school yearbook together. All students in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply. Students are chosen based on their work ethic, responsibility, and creativity. The students sell business ads, take pictures, lay out pages, and edit the yearbook. Sponsor: Ashley Warrington

Mu Alpha Theta is an academic organization that recognizes and promotes scholarship in, and enjoyment and understanding of, mathematics among high school students at Jackson Christian School. Eligible students are 10th, 11th and 12th graders who have completed Algebra I and Geometry. To become a member, the student must have an overall math average of 92, with no less than 85 in any one semester in a math course. The student must have an overall class average of 90, with no less than an 80 in any non-math course in any one semester. Once a student becomes a member, he/she must maintain an overall class average of 80 and 85 in math classes.

The National Honor Society is an academic organization that recognizes and promotes the important qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Eligible students are 11th and 12th graders who maintain an overall A (92.5) average. Also, new students will not be eligible until their third semester at JCS. Sponsor: Katharine Moran

The Student Government Association (SGA) is group of high school students that serve as liaisons between the student body and the administration. The President must be a senior and the Vice President must be a junior or senior. Officers can be 10th-12th grade.
