- The JCS Boys Middle School Soccer Program's 3-1 victory over Chester County moves the Eagles atop District 3 of the West TN Middle school soccer league.
JCS opened the scoring less than a minute in with Trenton Marberry finishing a Colin Coleman through ball. Michael Birmingham would double the tally shortly thereafter. While JCS would carry much of the 1st half play, Chester County capitalized on an Eagles' defensive miscue 15 minutes before half to cut the lead to just one. However, Trenton Marberry would register his second goal of the match just before half time. Taking a 3-1 lead into break, the Eagles methodically locked up shop, allowing Chester County only four shots in the second half.
After going undefeated in pre-season, the Eagles hit a rough patch playing two top level teams from Crockett County and Evangelical Christian School of Memphis. Today's result marks JCS's first win on the season, moving to 1-2-0 for the 2010 campaign. |
